๐Ÿ• Pet Regulations & Licensing

All pet owners in Knoxville must comply with city ordinances regarding pet licensing, leash laws, and animal control.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Pet License Fees (Annual)

  • Male dogs/cats (neutered): $5.00
  • Male dogs/cats (non-neutered): $15.00
  • Female dogs/cats (spayed): $5.00
  • Female dogs/cats (non-spayed): $15.00

Purchase at City Hall between May 1 - May 31 each year

๐Ÿ“‹ Pet Requirements

  • Dogs must have a collar and rabies tag (available through Knox County)
  • Dogs must have a CITY tag (Sec 6-7-1, 2, & 3)
  • The City follows state rules & regulations concerning rabies shots

โš–๏ธ City Ordinances & Regulations

  • Leash Law: The City has a leash law ordinance (Sec 6-2-3)
  • Running at Large: Dogs are not allowed to run at large (Sec 6-2-3)
  • Waste Removal: Owner is responsible for the removal of their animal's waste material (Sec 6-3-1). Allowing your dog to deposit waste material on city streets, terraces or resident's yards - waste must be removed immediately.
  • Bite Procedures: The City has rules and procedures concerning bites (Sec 6-2-1 & 2)

โš ๏ธ Impoundment Fees & Procedures

  • First Offense (not having current tag): $25.00
  • First Offense (other violations): $30.00
  • Second Offense: $50.00 (within 12 months of first offense)
  • Third Offense: $75.00 (within 12 months of first offense)
  • Daily Kennel Fee: $5.00 per day
  • Maximum Hold Time: Dogs are kept a maximum of five (5) days
  • Euthanasia: May occur after five (5) days of impoundment

  • Cremains Interment: $200.00 for permit for burial of cremains interred in the headstone

๐Ÿงน Cemetery Maintenance Schedule

  • Spring Clean-Up: Annual clean-up before Memorial Day
  • Summer Clean-Up: Additional clean-up after Memorial Day, starting June 15 each year

Please remove all decorations and items from gravesites before scheduled clean-up dates to prevent disposal.
